History

The regatta MADEIRA 950 OPEN RACE was born from the need of the skippers of boats from the class 950 which participate of regattas to experience a course of 3 thousand miles with departure and return in Italy, and point of return in the Ocean.

In the regatta MADEIRA 950 OPEN RACE will also participate beside the 950 others boats from 30 until 40 feet, including the boats from Class40 and Sun Fast 3600.

The demand was taken by the skipper Maurizio Vettorato who proposed a low cost regatta, technically engaging and interesting, with a regulation structured in such a way as to allow the wide participation of other classes.

The Nautical Clubs of Livorno and Funchal (Madeira) enthusiastically joined the project. Following is a presentation of the clubs.
